Our journey began several years ago, sparked by director Urs Wyss witnessing the disappearance of glaciers in his native Switzerland. For a filmmaker who grew up next to a glacier and ventured inside glaciers for his films, the change was devastating to witness.
In 2024, writer and creative producer Olga Rozanova joined Urs in shaping the sound-driven narrative as co-creator. Together, they are building a film where the story is told not through talking heads but through stunning 360° visuals, music, sound and the voices of the landscapes themselves.
The Last Symphony is an official co-production between Avocado Productions (Switzerland) and El Colony (United Kingdom), with a stellar assembly of UK creative contributors: Emmy-winning composer Nainita Desai (For Sama, The Reason I Jump, 14 Peaks), and Wounded Buffalo Sound Studios. On the Swiss side – an incredible line up of glaciologists, fulldome specialists and a long-term collaborator – DOP Christian Mülhauser.

All sports were filmed with Red Bull athletes from Switzerland, capturing skateboarding at Skillspark Winterthur, freestyle motocross in Laax, and breathtaking freeskiing on the Plain Morte in Crans-Montana. Every scene was shot in full 360° 8K 60FPS, placing the audience directly inside the action.
The project demonstrated how 360° Fulldome technology can translate high-energy sports into powerful immersive experiences for planetariums, live events, and branded storytelling.

People will consider his journey to the shore — over three days of swimming in complete solitude in the middle of the ocean — a betrayal, a defection, an act of bravery, a protest… But for Kurilov that jump was one thing only — a leap into total freedom.
